Woking FC has mutually agreed to part ways with manager Jermain Defoe, who had been in charge for just over four months. Director of football Jody Brown noted that there were increasing concerns within the club leading up to Defoe's departure, which comes just two weeks before the new season begins. Defoe's brief tenure included only six league matches.
Brown acknowledged the surprise surrounding the decision and emphasized the need for a meeting to assess the club's preparations for the upcoming season, which Defoe and his assistant did not attend.
