Two men, aged 22 and 23, have been rearrested on suspicion of manslaughter after the body of 22-year-old soldier Liam Potts was discovered in the River Tyne. The police are investigating a disturbance at The Boathouse pub and a collision involving a car and pedestrians that occurred shortly before Potts entered the water.
Authorities confirmed that Potts was on the bridge during the collision but was not struck by the vehicle. Two individuals sustained serious injuries in the incident, with one still hospitalized for treatment.
