TAG Heuer has launched a limited edition solar-powered Formula 1 watch, named the 'Zandvoort,' to commemorate the final Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. This model features a 38 mm case and is available with an orange rubber strap or a steel bracelet, priced at $2,150 and $2,250 respectively. Only 1,500 pieces of the rubber strap version and 1,000 of the bracelet version will be produced, with sales starting next week.
The new watch is part of TAG's 2025 relaunch of the Formula 1 series, which aims to appeal to a younger audience. The design incorporates eco-friendly materials, including a bioplastic casing, while retaining the vibrant colors that characterized the original F1 models from the 1980s, which were initially targeted at surfers and divers.
Watch enthusiasts should keep an eye on the limited availability of the Zandvoort model, as only 1,500 rubber strap and 1,000 bracelet versions will be produced. With sales starting next week, this eco-friendly timepiece could quickly become a sought-after collectible.
