York City has confirmed the departure of manager Stuart Maynard, just three months after he led the team to the National League title and a return to the English Football League. The club cited a difference in direction and vision as the reason for his exit, despite the successful season that saw them finish with 108 points.
Maynard took over in August 2025 and achieved a dramatic title win in April. York City is set to face Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup preliminary round on August 3, followed by their first League Two match against Bristol Rovers on August 15.
