Shrewsbury Food Hub has been awarded a £60,000 grant from Shrewsbury Town Council to help manage rising operational costs. The charity, which redistributes surplus food from various sources to community groups, reported significant increases in expenses due to the cost of living crisis.
The organization has rescued 272 tonnes of food in the past year, providing over 649,000 meals. The grant is seen as crucial for sustaining their operations and continuing their mission to reduce food waste in the community.
