Seven individuals have been arrested in Birmingham city centre following incidents involving the dangerous use of fireworks. The arrests occurred near Stephenson Street and Corporation Street, where crowds were seen setting off fireworks close to police officers. Authorities have emphasized the illegality and risks associated with such actions.
West Midlands Police had previously warned of strict measures against fireworks-related disturbances, especially after last year's violent incidents. The arrested individuals are currently in custody for further questioning.
With the recent arrests, residents should remain vigilant as police increase their presence in the city. Watch for updates on potential charges against those arrested and any new measures from West Midlands Police aimed at preventing further fireworks-related incidents.
