Marco Rubio has called on Cubans to act for political change, stating that 'now is the time' following Donald Trump's comments about potential U.S. military intervention in Cuba. Trump suggested that U.S. warships could stop near Cuba while returning from Iran, reviving earlier discussions about intervention in the island nation.
Rubio emphasized the need for Cubans to take advantage of the current situation, citing issues like corruption and economic failure in Cuba. He expressed skepticism about achieving a diplomatic resolution with the current Cuban government, which he views as a national security threat due to its ties with U.S. adversaries.
As tensions rise, watch for potential shifts in U.S.-Cuba relations. Rubio's call for action may resonate with Cubans facing economic hardship. Monitor grassroots movements and any signs of organized dissent, as these could influence future U.S. policy decisions.
