Recent data from the Office for National Statistics indicates that over one million individuals in the UK who have never smoked are now using vapes. This trend is particularly prevalent among younger adults, with nearly one in six people aged 25-34 reportedly vaping regularly. Many cite social anxiety and the habitual nature of vaping as reasons for their adoption of the practice.
The increase in vaping among non-smokers contrasts with a decline in traditional cigarette smoking. Experts express concern that marketing strategies may contribute to misconceptions about the safety and addictiveness of vaping, prompting calls for stricter regulations and public health messaging.
