Olivia Rodrigo has debuted her first Christmas song, titled 'Take Me Home (4 Christmas),' featuring a music video with Cynthia Nixon. The song expresses a desire for commitment during the holiday season and has drawn comparisons to The Waitresses' 1981 hit 'Christmas Wrapping,' a connection that Rodrigo acknowledged by seeking permission from the band.
The release coincides with a competitive holiday music landscape, as several artists, including Sam Fender and Elton John, are also vying for the Christmas number one spot. Rodrigo's track is positioned against classics like Wham's 'Last Christmas' and Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You,' which traditionally dominate the charts during this season.
