Gerard Lawlor, CEO of the Northern Ireland Football League, expressed concern over the league's drop to 51st in UEFA's association coefficient rankings. This decline could result in the Irish Premiership losing one of its European spots, reducing its representation to three clubs by the 2028-29 season.
Watch for potential changes in the Irish Premiership's structure as clubs may push for a shift to summer football to improve European performance. The upcoming season will be crucial for teams to adapt and enhance their competitiveness on the continental stage.
