LSU faced a disappointing defeat against Alabama, losing 31-13 despite outgaining their opponent by 172 yards. The Tigers struggled significantly on fourth downs, failing to convert on all four attempts, and managed only one touchdown in four red zone visits. Coach Lane Kiffin expressed frustration over the team's inability to capitalize on offensive opportunities.
The loss drops LSU's record to 6-3 and severely impacts their playoff chances, reducing their likelihood of making the postseason from 51% to 25%. Special teams issues and defensive lapses contributed to the defeat, highlighting areas for improvement as the season progresses.
