A federal judge has dismissed antitrust lawsuits from Chegg and Penske Media Corporation, which claimed Google’s AI search features harmed their web traffic. US District Judge Amit Mehta ruled that the plaintiffs did not provide sufficient evidence under antitrust law to support their claims against Google.
Judge Mehta acknowledged the challenges faced by publishers but emphasized that antitrust laws are not a substitute for legislative action regarding the economic impacts of technological advancements like AI.
