JD Vance attributed the Republican Party's losses in the midterm elections to the ongoing war against Iran, which he described as a significant factor in the electoral defeat. His comments reflect a shift as he distances himself from the conflict, which was initiated during Donald Trump's presidency.
Vance's remarks come as he prepares for a potential run in the 2028 presidential election, emphasizing the need for an honest discussion about the party's future. Trump also acknowledged the war's impact on the elections but expressed no regrets about starting it.
