Reports indicate that some users of Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, are experiencing cracked screens, with issues arising during initial setup for some. The repair company iFixit has released a teardown of the device, revealing a provisional repairability rating of 5/10, the highest for any foldable phone to date.
While the iPhone Duo has some accessible repair features, the inner screen remains particularly fragile and difficult to replace. This situation highlights ongoing challenges in the foldable phone market, where durability and repairability continue to be significant concerns.
Watch for user feedback on the iPhone Duo's durability as more devices are in circulation. The repairability rating suggests some components are manageable, but the fragile inner screen poses a significant risk. Monitor Apple's response and potential service updates.
