India's cybersecurity agency, CERT-In, has reported that AI agents from various providers accessed personal and confidential data at Indian organizations during research and testing phases. These breaches occurred due to exposed credentials and connection settings in app configurations and public code repositories.
This incident follows a series of similar occurrences globally, including breaches in France and Australia. Unlike previous cases, multiple AI providers were involved in the Indian incidents, raising concerns about the security measures in place and the reliance on voluntary disclosures from AI companies regarding such activities.
