The Ebenezer Chapel, a Grade II listed building in Aberdare, is set to be auctioned with a starting price of just £1. Built in 1811, the chapel once accommodated 900 worshippers but has fallen into disrepair since its last use in 2009. Partial renovations have been made, although previous planning permissions for conversion into flats have lapsed.
The property, which includes a garage and sits on a 0.23-acre plot, is located in a residential area about half a mile from the town center. The auction will begin on October 8.
Watch for potential bidding interest as the auction approaches, particularly from developers or community groups interested in restoring the chapel. The low starting price may attract attention, but the lapsed planning permissions could complicate future use.
