The government has announced that over £310,000 has been distributed to assist families with back to school expenses. This initiative, known as the Back to School Bonus, provides one-time payments of up to £150 for uniforms and supplies to families earning under £75,000.
More than 2,500 students have benefited from this program, with 2,552 payments approved for primary and secondary school pupils. Additionally, a new school uniform policy aims to reduce costs by limiting the number of branded items required.
Families should monitor the application process as 70 more requests are pending approval. The new uniform policy may also influence future school supply budgets, making it essential for parents to stay informed about potential changes in school requirements.
