Google has announced that it will discontinue access to Google Assistant on Android phones and tablets starting September 4th. This change will also affect paired devices such as smartwatches and headphones, with the transition expected to take several weeks to complete.
Users in regions where Gemini is available will only have access to this new AI-enabled assistant. While Google Assistant will no longer be available on most mobile devices, it will still function on Google Home and Google TV devices for the time being.
