The Golden State Valkyries, fresh off their championship win, are projected to start the 2027 WNBA season at the top of ESPN's early power rankings. Coach Natalie Nakase has focused solely on the 2026 title, which they clinched with a Game 7 victory over the Atlanta Dream, and several key players are already under contract for the upcoming season.
As the Valkyries look to defend their title, they may explore options in the free agent market, while the Dream and other teams are also preparing for potential roster changes. The competitive landscape of the league could shift significantly based on these moves.
