Ann Widdecombe's funeral took place at Buckfast Abbey in Devon, attended by around 100 family, friends, and colleagues. The former Conservative MP, who passed away at 78, was remembered during a requiem mass that included a homily from the abbey's abbot. Widdecombe's contributions to politics spanned decades, including her time as an MP and later as a spokesperson for Reform UK.
The service was marked by a somber atmosphere, with attendees dressed in black. Donations made in her memory will support charitable causes, including the Leprosy Mission. A public memorial is planned for later this year, while a man has been charged with her murder, with a trial date set for June 2027.
