FC Twente has introduced a new tartan-inspired kit, honoring the enduring friendship between its fans and supporters from Stranraer, Scotland. This connection began in 2006 when a terminally ill fan, Dennis Van Unen, fulfilled his dream of attending an Old Firm match with the help of two Stranraer supporters. The kit will debut during an Eredivisie match against AZ Alkmaar this weekend.
The relationship has fostered regular visits between the two fan bases, with Twente supporters traveling to Stranraer and vice versa. The marketing manager of FC Twente noted that the shirt symbolizes the heartfelt bond and aims to preserve this unique friendship for future generations.
