The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has unveiled a strategic plan aimed at significantly increasing participation in football over the next decade. Key targets include doubling the number of registered female players and enhancing facilities, with a goal of 100 new or upgraded pitches by 2030. The plan also emphasizes improving the performance of national teams on the world stage.
FAW Chief Executive Noel Mooney highlighted the need for increased funding from the Welsh Government to support these initiatives. The association aims to grow the number of registered players from 120,000 to 160,000, focusing on both men's and women's football, while also addressing health benefits associated with increased participation.
