England's women's rugby league team is set to compete against Australia for the first time since a significant defeat in March 2025. The team, now featuring a younger squad, aims to demonstrate their growth and readiness for the challenge ahead in the World Cup co-hosted by Australia. Coach Stuart Barrow emphasizes a shift in mindset, focusing on excitement rather than fear as they prepare for this crucial match in Perth.
Despite a strong opening win against Wales, England faces challenges, including the recent injury of key player Jasmin Strange. Barrow acknowledges the importance of learning from past experiences, particularly the previous loss to Australia, as they aim to improve their performance and respect the game against a formidable opponent that has dominated international play since 2016.
