Michael Connors, 28, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after admitting to causing the death of Lydia La Polla, 47, during a police pursuit in Wrexham. Connors, who was driving without a license or insurance, fled to Ireland after the incident but was later extradited. The court heard that La Polla's life was tragically cut short just before her 25th wedding anniversary.
Judge Simon Mills criticized Connors for his reckless behavior, noting that his actions could have resulted in even more fatalities. In addition to his prison term, Connors received an eight-year driving ban upon release.
