Mind Robotics, a spinoff from Rivian, has appointed Doug Field as its president. Field, who previously held significant roles at Apple, Tesla, and Ford, will lead the startup's efforts to develop versatile robots for factory applications. The company aims to leverage AI and robotics to enhance industrial processes, having raised over $1 billion since its founding in 2025.
As Mind Robotics embarks on this journey, it faces the challenge of integrating advanced AI with practical robotics. The startup plans to utilize Rivian's AI training data and will initially test its robots in Rivian's factories, highlighting the interconnected nature of the two companies while maintaining operational independence.
