Around 300 volunteers participated in the Diwali Basket Brigade event in Birmingham, packaging food parcels for families facing food poverty due to rising living costs. Organized by The Diwali Foundation, this initiative aims to provide support to vulnerable households, with a target of distributing 6,000 hampers this year.
The charity has collaborated with numerous food banks and charities, having already delivered approximately 23,470 food hampers to those in need. Similar events are planned in other cities, highlighting the ongoing challenge of food insecurity in the UK.
