Matteullah Siddiqi, a 20-year-old drug dealer, has been sentenced to six years and nine months for exploiting a 14-year-old boy to sell drugs in Glasgow. This case is notable as it represents one of the first convictions in Scotland for using a child to deal class A drugs for profit.
The teenager was coerced into skipping school and staying in drug dens, where he was taught to distribute drugs. His situation came to light when concerned teachers contacted his mother, leading to his rescue and subsequent identification as a victim of exploitation under the Human Trafficking and Exploitation Act.
