Australian author Craig Silvey has been sentenced to seven months in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to child exploitation material. The Western Australian district court revealed that Silvey sent messages expressing sexual desires for young boys and was found with explicit images on his devices during a police raid.
Silvey, known for his novel 'Jasper Jones,' has faced significant backlash, with publishers halting promotions of his works and removing them from reading lists following his charges. The case highlights ongoing concerns regarding child exploitation and the responsibilities of public figures.
