The College Football Playoff selection committee will announce its first rankings of the season on Tuesday evening. With numerous teams facing multiple losses, the committee's task is particularly challenging this year. Key discussions will revolve around the positioning of teams like Ohio State, BYU, and Georgia, each with varying strengths and weaknesses in their records and schedules.
The rankings will be influenced by head-to-head matchups, overall performance metrics, and the strength of schedules. Notably, Miami's potential ranking could be affected by their upcoming game against Notre Dame, while BYU's standing may hinge on their performance against Utah. These rankings will set the stage for the playoff race as teams vie for a spot in the 12-team field.
