Celtic and Rangers are currently awaiting a decision from a Scottish FA appellate tribunal regarding their appeals against a ruling that mandates their next home Scottish Cup matches be played without fans. This ruling follows incidents of disorder during last season's competition, including a pitch invasion at Ibrox after a quarter-final match.
Both clubs are also contesting £100,000 fines related to fan clashes and other disturbances. An independent review highlighted significant failings by both clubs and the SFA in managing crowd behavior, leading to warnings of further sanctions if unacceptable conduct continues.
