Activision has announced it will remove footage of the Itaewon disaster from Modern Warfare 4 following backlash from victims' families. The game had included real news clips of the 2022 tragedy, which resulted in nearly 160 deaths, to set the scene for a fictional narrative involving a North Korean invasion.
The decision comes after families expressed their outrage, stating that using such a traumatic event for entertainment is inappropriate. Activision has apologized and confirmed the footage will be removed in the next game update scheduled for November 12.
