A 28-year-old British mountaineer tragically died after falling approximately 61 meters while descending Torrecerredo, the highest peak in the Picos de Europa range. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, with local authorities reporting that the climber fell into a vertical gully on the mountain's east side.
Rescue teams located the climber's body about 20 meters below the summit after a helicopter search. His remains were retrieved by specialists and transported to a regional facility, while the UK Foreign Office has reached out to local authorities regarding the incident.
