The Chicago Bears are set to start quarterback Tyson Bagent in their upcoming game against the New York Jets. This decision comes as Caleb Williams continues to recover from a Grade 2 hamstring strain, sidelining him for a second consecutive game. Bagent has been practicing with the first team and will be backed up by Case Keenum.
Bagent's last start was in 2023, where he led the Bears to a narrow victory over the Carolina Panthers. Coach Ben Johnson has indicated that the team's quarterback strategy will consider performance trends, as both Bagent and Keenum are prepared to compete for the starting role.
Watch for Bagent's performance against the Jets as it could solidify his role or shift the dynamics in the Bears' QB strategy. With Williams' recovery timeline uncertain, Bagent's ability to lead effectively may influence future game plans and roster decisions.
