Barcelona has lodged a complaint with UEFA against Paris Saint-Germain following a controversial tifo displayed by PSG fans before their Champions League match. The tifo depicted a masked figure in a PSG shirt using a chainsaw to destroy the Barcelona badge, which Barcelona condemned as inciting violence and hatred in sports.
Barcelona expressed strong disapproval of the imagery, stating it contradicts the values of respect and sportsmanship in football. The incident occurred as Barcelona faced PSG, resulting in a 4-2 defeat for the Spanish club.
Watch for UEFA's response to Barcelona's complaint, as it could set a precedent for how fan displays are regulated in future matches. The fallout may influence fan behavior and club policies regarding tifo displays, impacting the atmosphere in upcoming Champions League fixtures.
