The co-inventor of Apple's FaceID technology, Littwin, has partnered with Hagai Lalazar to create an AI model aimed at decoding brain activity to diagnose cognitive disorders. Their company, Hemispheric, has gathered extensive brain data from 100,000 volunteers to train this model, which has shown promise in accurately assessing conditions like PTSD and depression.
Hemispheric plans to submit its first product for FDA approval next year, which will utilize a lightweight EEG headset to assist clinicians in diagnosing cognitive disorders. The company is also developing proprietary brain scanners to enhance data collection for their AI model.
