The Community Security Trust (CST) has reported a significant increase in antisemitic incidents at UK universities, with 95 cases recorded in the 2025-26 academic year, up from 83 the previous year. This figure remains notably higher than pre-war levels, despite a decrease following the initial conflict in Gaza after October 2023.
Universities UK has emphasized the need for institutions to safeguard Jewish students and staff, while Education Secretary Lucy Powell described the findings as deeply troubling. The CST highlighted that abusive behavior, including verbal abuse and graffiti, was the most common form of antisemitism reported, with a concerning rise in incidents involving university staff.
