Airbound, an Indian startup focused on autonomous drone technology, has successfully raised $37 million to enhance its air delivery capabilities. The company aims to make aerial transport as cost-effective as trucking by developing ultra-lightweight drones that can carry more than their own weight, utilizing a unique vertical takeoff and landing design.
The startup has already conducted over 13,000 autonomous flights, including a partnership with Narayana Health for transporting medical samples. Airbound plans to establish a drone delivery network across Andhra Pradesh, targeting up to 10,000 flights daily for various sectors, including healthcare and e-commerce.
