An 11-year-old British chess player, Bodhana Sivanandan, has set a new record by becoming the youngest woman to earn the grandmaster title. This achievement follows her previous milestones, including being the youngest women's chess champion in Britain and the youngest athlete to represent England internationally.
Sivanandan reached the required rating of 2300 and secured her third norm during a tournament in Samarkand. Her rapid ascent in chess began during the pandemic, and she continues to aim for further accomplishments in the sport.
