A house designed to resemble rocks on Ilkley Moor in Yorkshire has received planning approval. The eco-friendly home, named Fomorian, will be built on green belt land and aims to meet ultra-low energy standards under the Passivhaus certification.
The design, inspired by local folklore and geology, faced initial objections from the town council but was ultimately approved by the Planning Inspectorate through a special clause for exceptional quality developments. The project highlights a growing trend in innovative architecture that respects and integrates with natural landscapes.
