The UK is sending RAF Typhoon fighters to Saudi Arabia to conduct defensive missions against Houthi attacks. This move follows a series of missile strikes on Saudi infrastructure, including airports and oil facilities, which have resulted in casualties. The operation marks a significant military commitment by the UK government under Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
This deployment highlights the growing international military involvement in the Yemen conflict, particularly as Houthi attacks escalate. The UK's actions may influence regional security dynamics and could prompt further responses from other nations involved in the conflict.
