Kartal's performance included four aces and a strong first serve percentage, allowing her to reach the second round. She will next face Swiss ninth seed Belinda Bencic, as she aims to build on her recent success after competing in the Billie Jean King Cup and the Beijing Open.
Kartal's next match against Bencic will be crucial for her ranking and confidence. Observers should note how she adapts her game against a top seed, especially after her recent injury. Continued success could signal her return to the upper echelons of women's tennis.
