Singapore authorities have confiscated a luxury mansion valued at approximately $42 million, allegedly purchased with funds from smuggling Nvidia AI chips. The investigation has revealed that two-thirds of the property's price was reportedly financed through illegal earnings from the trade of servers containing these semiconductors, which are under US export controls.
The case has led to charges against four individuals and several companies, marking a significant move by Singapore to uphold its reputation as a secure business environment. The crackdown on illegal shipments of Nvidia chips has intensified since the US imposed export restrictions in 2022.
