The original storyline was intended to open with a wedding featuring Marcus and Stanford, played by the late Willie Garson, leading viewers to initially believe it was Carrie and Big's wedding.
Despite the change, Palmer noted that his character was still acknowledged in the film through a mention on the wedding guest list. He also expressed his belief that Stanford would have ultimately ended up with Antony, rather than Marcus.
