Royal Mail has initiated an investigation following the discovery of hundreds of discarded letters on a country road near Londonderry. The letters, which include important correspondence from health trusts and banks, were found bundled together and may have affected residents' access to essential services.
Police have reported that further quantities of mail were seized during follow-up inquiries. Royal Mail is working to recover and process the items to ensure they are returned to the postal network for delivery.
Residents should monitor updates from Royal Mail regarding the recovery of their mail, especially those expecting important documents from health trusts or banks. The investigation may lead to changes in mail handling procedures to prevent future incidents.
