The Boston Red Sox have placed Masataka Yoshida on the 10-day injured list following a left hamstring strain sustained during Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Yoshida experienced the injury while running to second base and will undergo further testing upon the team's return to Boston.

In addition to Yoshida, the Red Sox also placed reliever Justin Slaten on the 15-day injured list due to elbow inflammation. To fill the roster gaps, Boston recalled catcher Mickey Gasper and left-hander Raymond Burgos from Triple-A Worcester. Yoshida has a batting average of .274 with five home runs this season.
