The UK Home Office confirmed that a record 165 migrants arrived in a single dinghy, surpassing the previous record of 128 set in July. The vessel, measuring 13 meters long, was towed into Dover, highlighting ongoing concerns about the dangers of Channel crossings. Since 2020, small boat arrivals have become the primary method for illegal entry into the UK, with nearly all migrants claiming asylum upon arrival.
Despite a 45% decrease in crossings this year compared to last, the situation remains critical, with overcrowded boats increasing risks. The Home Office reported that 366 people arrived on three boats on a single day, emphasizing the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in managing migration and ensuring safety in the Channel.
