Nottingham Council Plans Cost of Living Support After Underspend

Nottingham City Council has reported an underspend of over £20 million for the 2025-26 financial year, allowing it to provide additional support for the cost of living. Deputy leader Ethan Radford indicated that the council would soon announce temporary measures aimed at alleviating financial pressure on residents and businesses.

The funds will also be allocated for infrastructure improvements, such as pothole repairs and city center cleaning. However, officials clarified that this underspend will not be used to offset potential future council tax increases.
