Nicholas Hoult has been cast as Gilderoy Lockhart for the second season of HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV adaptation, which is set to premiere on December 25. Lockhart, a character known for his celebrity status and authorship, will be introduced in the series as a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.
