Prime Minister Andy Burnham has unveiled plans to grant councils greater authority to regulate the opening of vape and betting shops in an effort to revitalize struggling high streets. New legislation will require planning permission for vape shops and tighten definitions to prevent circumvention of the rules. Additionally, councils will gain the ability to refuse new betting establishments and adult gaming centers.
