Muju Earth Technologies has unveiled the Aeropod, a device designed to automate soil aeration without the need for machinery or robotics. This innovation aims to enhance soil health and significantly reduce tilling costs for farmers, potentially improving crop yields by addressing soil compaction issues that can decrease yields by up to 60%.
The Aeropod is currently undergoing field trials in the UK with nine participating farmers, focusing initially on onion growers who are particularly affected by soil compaction. The startup is also attracting interest from companies developing biologic soil amendments.
